Christmas Twig Vase

The party is still going strong, click here if you're looking to link up to the Head-to-Head Showdown!

Last week I was a guest over at Harbour Breeze, and usually when I write a guest post I wait awhile to post them here.  I like to save the extra posts for weeks when I'm extra busy, or I've fallen behind and need a post in a pinch.  Funny thing...last week I was extra busy and I've fallen behind on writing posts.  So, sorry if you hopped over to Harbour Breeze last week to check out my post, you'll be seeing a big repeat here today.  So without further adieu, here is my quick post on making a Christmas-y vase.

With Christmas just around the corner, I've been planning out how I'd like to decorate the house, what new things I'd like to add, and how I can do it on a modest budget.  I've been spotting these simple twig vases all over Pinterest and thought I would whip one up for the Christmas season.  To really encourage a Christmas flair, I decided to spray paint my vase silver.

Making the twig vase was simple enough, all it took was an empty cocoa tin, a trip to the backyard, a bunch of twigs cut to size and some good ol' hot glue.  It all came together in less than 15 minutes.

Then I simply sprayed my twiggy creation with some silver spray paint I had leftover from another project.  In hindsight, I should have sprayed the cocoa tin first, but it just took a couple of extra coats to cover all that bright yellow.  Ah well, it all worked out, nothing to get worked up about.

Once my vase was all dry, I arranged some golden leaf sprigs and added a few pine cones, tied a brown ribbon around the vase, and voila!

A simple, quick, affordable accent piece for the middle of a Christmas buffet, on the hall table, or the mantle.

Thanks for stopping in today!

Be blessed,

Jen, that turned out beautifully! I did one in early fall and left it natural and loved it, but now I see I can spruce it up and continue using it through the holidays. One of those times you wonder...why didn't I think of that! ha! I would love for you to share it at my party today(Wed.)! http://theshadyporch.blogspot.com

This is great, Jen! I've seen this done and left natural, but I love the idea of spray painting it silver, like you did, or even gold! Love your arrangement and ribbon pairing! Very nice!
